The way I heard it, the expression “god is in the details” was used by early scientist in Europe. As most (all?) of them were Christian scholars, naturalists, curious about the finer workings of the Almighty.
Somewhere along the line, as more and more got into the expanding field of science, that expression got flipped.
‘Devil is in the details’ became widely used, thanks in part to some guy named…Friedrich Wilhelm Nietzsche.
Interesting.

As in the case of our own "Founders," MANY Most of this scientists and scholars public "Christian" but closet Deists, Gnostics, and Occultist (Illuminati etal) who started the whole religion-cult of Scientism.
They then used their positions of power as a springboard to advance the "naturalism" of "Evolution", Worship of the Sun / Heliocentrism, Billions Year Old / Infinite Universe -- IOW, anything & everything to replace Jesus Christ and God the Creator.
