I do t have one yet but I’d like to get a Smith & Wesson 1911 in that price range.

I have a Springfield Champion that I love now but I had to completely rebuild it. The gun had a spring lock on it and it had one of the worst triggers I’ve ever seen on it. It was 8-10lbs. I replaced everything in the frame. It now has all STI internals and a 3lbs crisp trigger.

I had a smith. The Swartz safety system was a deal breaker for me. I had issues with the firing pin safety plunger. It made the gun inoperable. I had it fixed and sold it. Not a fan of the external extractor as well.

I had the same experience and just sold mine. Springfield Armory is all about marketing. I love my Sig XO 1911 and the price was just under 1k when i got it. Fantastic although some traditionalists don't like the squared slide.
