Dude you are a drama queen! You’re the complete opposite of the OP. It’s neither as good as he says nor as bad as you think. I believe Alexander, Stamps and one of the Ohio guys will absolutely progress this offseason and be able to provide us with two starters. Toviano did great considering he played completely out of position. He will get better. We absolutely could use 2 more starters at CB and if we can get them here then get them. At the same time, I do think we can get 4 guys ready to play SEC football from the guys we have. You’d be surprised what people can do when they have no choice. As for as talent goes, these guys have it, they have to put it all together, but they have the ability to do it.

Now the DL does need help. We need at least 2-3 inside guys. Now is it possible for guys to move inside like Shand/Jones? Yes but how will they respond to the move? Can the transfers and freshman end up providing starter minutes? They absolutely can, but do you want to risk that and put so much pressure on them with no one to look up to? There’s just no way we don’t get someone in the transfer portal in the spring. 2-3 guys like what Jefferson provided would be enough.

That provides depth and gives these guys someone to look up to. Then these guys can come in and provide depth. With that said, we have to get the young guys on the field as much as possible in the non-conference. Ideally we need two guys who have 2+ years remaining and one guy with 1+ but all can start/ play at a high level.

Of course we take the best players no matter what their edibility looks like but that should solve our future issues, If they all use up their remaining edibility, Bo Davis is able to develop the young guys and we start bringing in elite talent. I think those are all viable possibilities or at the very least, we get close to that point. I know this, our coaches know exactly where they at and they all chose to come coach at LSU. That tells me they’re confident, so I’m confident with em.

And the other point not mentioned enough about the DL last year is they had no coach to speak of. The hired coach Lindsey was on medical leave and LSU DL was coached by an analyst. Hell, Pete Jenkins came in as a consultant and immediately complained that the DL were at least 1 yard off the LOS...a big no-no in Pete's mind. So we don't know how good Guillory would be in the proper alignment. And I liked what I saw in Paris Shand #94 I believe when he played...assuming he will move inside.

You know what is also understated is who is going to rush the passer? LSU's supposed misuse of Perkins was also overstated. You know why Perkins wasn't rushing the passer as much last year. Nooooo, it wasn't House being stupid although he might be. Teams found out that if you block Perkins he is incapable of overwhelming the block. He is not a Dallas Turner type. Swinson #13 I think was the only LOS player I counted on to go after the QB. So before anyone gets obsessed with the DT position, better come up with a pass rusher other than Swinson. 11th is sacks in the SEC is laid at the doorstep of the EDGE and DE types.
