Eh I am a manager and I love it. I manage 2 supervisors and they have 20 total employees. We do 3 days in/2 days out.

PTO days are down substantially for my staff. Productivity is just as good, and is actually better on the 2 WFH days. We still have the benefits of seeing each other face to face 3 days a week. Hybrid seems to be a good model for us.

I think what it really shows us is most people don't require 40 hours per week to do what they need to do maybe.

WFH allows all the personal things to be done during work hours.. that's why they take less leave.

Anyone who has worked in an office building and pays attention to what everyone is doing already knows this.

You have people sitting in bathroom stalls for an hour, people wandering around talking about sports, people in cubes surfing the internet. People hanging out in the break room having conversations.

There isn’t some magical productivity enforcement mechanism in an office building. Loafers will loaf.

That's a good thing for morality and productivity. Before, you were sitting in the office just wasting away during downtime. Now you can get a few things done around the house while doing the exact same volume of work, likely at better quality.

Almost as if there's no reason to force professionals to be in an office some arbitrary number of hours to be full time. The work either gets done or it doesn't. This obviously isn't true for all job types, but most "office" jobs would fall under this to me.

Bingo, and my above post may have misinterpreted your post I quoted now that I see this reply from you

But yea, I think most or let's say many jobs do not require a legit 8 hours of work. You're just there for 8 hours. So if someone who WFH gets some laundry and dishes done and whatever else during work hours, you can't really point to that as a blanket statement as to why WFH is bad because the person in the office is also not working 8 hours. They're just siting at their desk not working while someone else is at home doing dishes, but ultimately, not working is not working...there's no difference.

If you're salaried and getting shite done, then who cares anyway...
