Food safety guidelines state that you can keep ready-to-eat prepared food in the refrigerator for up to seven days. Day one beginning on the day the food is produced.

In reality, I keep ready-to-eat TCS food FOR PERSONAL CONSUMPTION in my home refrigerator for as many as 10 days.

Did you make the HHC or purchase it? That would influence how long I keep food as well.

Yeah, treat it like leftovers. Good for a few days max.

Some processed head cheeses are cured and can be kept longer. FYI.

I keep a couple of 8 oz commercially made HHC packs in the freezer for adding to grits.

How long does homemade HHC last in the freezer?

I’ve frozen it for more than six months but I think the texture is changed after a while.
