Gary Crowton needs to go with a lot of 5 receiver sets against GT to keep them from stacking the box. TT Byrd Lafell J. Mitchell and Dickson, dixon or c. mitch would be difficult for GT to cover. Especially if you add the JJ designed draw play up the middle.

Usually, if you don't want another team to "stack the box", it means you want to run the ball. If you use a 5 receiver set, that means you have no backs in the backfield with your QB. So you can't run the ball, anyway.

Or you can line up in the I and play action pass to take advantage of 8 or 9 in the box.

I guess the bottom line is that we must have the threat of the pass- whether through play action, 4 or 5 wides or whatever.

But you are scared to throw the ball with your freshman, and you have been all year. It isn't a debate.

I mean it's a good theory to spread them out 5 wide then run a qb draw

Why be scared now? It's a meaningless exhibition, I mean bowl game. I say throw it 50 times.

I think after about 5 minutes of the Ole Miss game we tried to do just that...

Tech's strength is our front 4 on defense. Our linebackers are our weakest link. Anything you guys do to force us into nickel is a bonus, from our perspective. Less crappy linebackers on the field.

Well thats pretty fundamental. I think LSU has been trying to do that all year, but JLee threw too many INTs for the passing game to be a legit threat, and against Arky the OL didnt feel like run blocking. They just werent in the mood I guess.

Well that's been our biggest problem on offense all year, QB play. All defenses had to do was sell out and stop Charles Scott and force Jarrett Lee, who had a habit of throwing pick 6s, to win the game.
