there are a lot of people in this thread that missed some key points

she was hired and went through training for two and a half months, then got the month of december to work and then she got laid off. The company is saying it was performance based to try to avoid severance which is bullshite. she was right to call them out on the bogus performance reason for terminating her

so most likeky they overhired, early numbers for the sales department came in and didnt look great so a small scale RIF of 40/1500 was enacted to reduce sales head count.

she hadnt been there doing the job long enough to be properly evaluated unless she really sucked during the training phase. if she was doing poorly they should have put her on a performance improvement plan and documented everything. clearly they did not and the HR people were caught flat footed when she questioned them about her evaluations

the legit complaint the young lady may have is if she took the cloudfare job over some other offers and they did this to her three months later.

You are missing them….

Wrong. She was given 3 months of “ramp up” time and lead into December, which despite what others are saying, is the most successful time for an OEM in IT. Also, she says she in fact lost all 3 contracts she delivered to clients and has yet to close a deal….

PIPs are not the same as they used to be, especially in a higher base salary position like she was in. She signed an offer to work “at will” for a good salary and wasn’t performing.
The company is the one at loss here, they pissed away $40,000 on Brittany and got nothing in return.

Cloudflare continues to post new sales opportunities, including Brittany’s exact position, on many sites. I’m sorry, but at a company like Cloudflare, if you can’t bag a couple renewals and a net new deal in the first 4.5 months…you don’t belong there.
Also, she talks to HR about her metrics, but you nor have seen any of those.

Look, this was handled poorly by Cloudflare. They simply should have let her go saying they no longer believe she can accomplish the goals set for her position and gave her the what is next speech and left it at that.

She handled it even more poorly by posting the recorded call and flaming everyone on LinkedIn. She’s worthless and can’t imagine anyone ever hiring her. My guess, some female manager will come along and feel bad for her and give her a chance, but my money says it won’t end will.
