I think there's a happy medium, though. Those smug posts from people who've been driving the same 2010 Corolla or whatever for years and years are a little depressing. I mean, can you really not reasonably afford something a tiny bit better? Even if so, did it ever occur to you to maybe get a slightly better job or something?

We only get so many years on this planet. I want at least some of that time to be spent driving a nice car.

I can’t speak for others, but my quality of life isn’t dependent on the car I drive.

2010 is nothing. I drive a 2002 Tundra. I'm not smug, I'm not depressed. I haven't had a car payment in 20 years.
