I still don't think he wanted to fire House and realizes our defensive issues was largely a talent issue.

It will never not make me laugh that he let Baker go, only to pay a huge buyout 2 years later and then give Baker a crazy contract.

My question is if he thought it was just a talent issue, why did he fire the whole defensive staff?

Laugh- maybe from irony; but Baker was a position coach on LSU's first losing season in over 20 years. Kelly was looking to revamp the staff, he's not going to promote the existing LB coach to DC at that moment.

Life's crazy, let's hope it all works out this time.

Maybe so, and it explains the moves, to be quite honest.

He's basically assembling an all-star recruiting staff on defense, I expect Raymond to also be rehired.

Kelly might think House was good, but he needs players more than anything.

What would you and anyone else said two years ago if Kelly walked in the door and made Baker the DC one year removed from being the scapegoat for a legitimately bad Miami defense? He may have just been a fall guy for Diaz, but before his two years as DC at Mizzou, do you think he would have been seen as qualified by anyone? This board and the entire fanbase would have raised hell over it.

It is ironic as hell though and kind of funny. I’ll give you that.
