Wow!!! Just Wow!!! So now Football Scoop is either incompetent or lying?

From the current NCAA manual: "15.5.6.2 Championship Subdivision Football. There shall be an annual limit of 63 on the value of financial aid awards (equivalencies) to counters and an annual limit of 85 on the total number of counters in football at each Football Championship Subdivision institution. (Revised: 1/10/91 effective 8/1/92, 12/15/06, 10/4/23)"

Notice the word "annual"...that means checked once a year. And the checking point is at the beginning of football season which is when fall practice is initiated.

"Annual" doesn't mean the scholarships are checked once each year; it means that you can only give 85 scholarships each year. If you have a guy on scholarship during the year and then he gets kicked off the team, he's still had a scholarship during that year and thus counts against your "annual" limit.
