Yeah sure. He could fail.

I’m just saying Alabama is not going to sit back and watch an Auburn happen. And I absolutely do not think recruiting is going to plummet. Drop yes. But they are 100% going to invest millions to get players. Make no mistake. I hate it, but it’s true.

A few ways to look at it. Washington had 2022 TCU levels of senior leadership. They were going to be decimated next year.

If Saban had waited another year to retire, do you think Bama would have hired him had UW gone 8-5 in the Big 10 in 2024? Because I think that's a great season for them next year with them losing about 20 starters this offseason.

I think the frustration for the rest of the SEC will be that he can clearly pick QBs out of the portal. Jake Haener was a pretty good QB for Fresno St.

Now, my hope is that DeBoer is fools gold on that end because he knew about Penix when he was his OC at Indiana.

There’s no way Bama will allow a “high risk” guy to come in and ruin their recruiting process. And they definitely are not going to stop spending on it.

As far as if he will fail or not, that is unknown of course. But Bama certainly is happy.
