Yet like you and VON indicate above, it is seen as what it is and recognized as little more than a middle finger to devoted male fans of TOS who are boomers and generation Xers.
Yet the problem for the current generation of woke writers in the ST franchise is this: TOS is largely embraced by fans across all generations.
So while Stacy Abrams’ cameo has been reduced to little more than bad punchline to a throwaway joke* and will be largely forgotten in years to come, ST TOS will continue to maintain fans among future generations.
* “A UN Commission On World Hunger has issued a scientific study that finds that if Stacey Abrams would simply cut down to a 5000 calorie a day diet, she could cure world hunger in 6 months.”
