Can we at least wait to see if there is actual ice on the roads before a decision is made?

Ever heard of black ice? It's quite dangerous and we're not accustomed to it down here nor equipped to deal with it.

It looks like St Bernard will avoid icy roads tomorrow morning.

However, we have a lot of teachers who live on the north shore and who commute every day down here (mainly older teachers who didn't want to live here after Katrina but still wanted to work here to keep seniority).

So far, they have announced that all after-school activities tomrrow will be cancelled, but school will occur.

But there is a real concern that a lot of teachers might not make it in tomorrow morning.

On average it’s way more dangerous than white ice.

Black ice, while only being about 14% of the total ice, causes over 50% of the wrecks
