Do you even know what went into the scenes in John Wick movies?? Keanu literally trained in close quarters shooting and fighting. Those were REAL actions he was performing and real reloads etc. Now, not EVERY shot can be a headshot I agree. But that just adds to how cool the movies are.
The Wick movies, technically, are great. That's why I said they are fine for what they are. The actual movie/plot isn't very good IMO, or is at least overly ridiculous way past the point of absurdity. They aren't for me, but I get why people like them. And the technical aspects of how they filmed it are impressive for sure.
I liken it more to the fact that for me, the Wick movies are just okay movies with some cool in them.

Nah. John Wick character and universe setup is so much more interesting than the Equalizer franchise. Both are good, but Wick was a cultural phenomenon.

If you consider John Wick to be absurd, you should've fallen off the couch laughing at 70 year old Denzel running through a rooms of gangsters. The Wick movies are supposed to be over the top and leans into the absurd. The Equalizer movies are paint by numbers action movies that take themselves too seriously. A little levity goes a long way when sitting through a movie that doesn't get any deeper than bad guys bad, good guys good.
