Either/or ... but a high gain guitar amp is more fun.

I want to try it ABY with both a guitar and bass amp and try to EQ the lows out of the guitar and add some effects processing to the higher frequencies.
And I agree about the setup, I had played a couple floor model Squiers before I got this one (shoutout to Cohen and his awesome Youtube gear page "SpiralCasterPlaysPedals" out of Baton Rouge).
Mine already had some nice work done and a great setup and it was noticeably improved from the models I had previously played. He had already put on some flats and some cool custom hardware too. I've been having a blast on the thing.
