Here’s my garden update photo dump.

Here the okra (left) and purple hulls (right). They just popped up a few days ago. I’ll probably start thinning them some time this week.

The beans are starting to climb, and the Dasher II cucumbers (right) are starting to take off. I’m sure they’ll start climbing this week.

The blackberries are just insane and I’m sure my neighbors will be getting a bunch. I just started picking the first ones today. The strawberries are still putting out some nice berries. The blueberries are looking very healthy and I should get a decent harvest this year if the birds don’t pillage them.

Turned a sub crate that work was throwing out into an herb box. Got some basil, thyme, and oregano in there.

Big beef tomatoes

Beefsteak

Tie dye

San Marzano

Roma

Giant Marconi pepper

This is one of the cayenne plants. It’s pretty chewed up. A good bit of the pepper plants are.

Onions and sunflowers are doing nicely!

Not pictured below, I harvested the last of the broccoli just in time before it flowered. Some of it already had, and aphids were starting to take over some of the foliage. Not surprising, as warm as it's been.

Corn is coming along nicely

Tomatoes are just ok. Wind beat them up pretty good a couple weeks ago. They're determinates, but still just did a lot of pruning of the lower branches.

Beans are climbing

Cucumbers are just about ready to start climbing.

A little dill in the foreground, onions behind that, and corn in the back. The onions are taking forever. I seeded them in early December, and the package said 80 days or something like that. And they're short day onions, and our day length is over 13 hours now. I thought the goal was to have them bulb before it got too warm.

Your tomatoes are looking great.
How often do you fertilize and what do you use?

your garden looks awesome, im just starting to transplant my seedlings. im behind after neglecting them a week. trying to nurse them back to health is taking a long time. i transplanted a few but it looks like they're just dying off. i'll have to get the store bought seedlings most likely.

I found this little fella on some sage I was harvesting.

Looked it up & it's a Keeled Treehopper. Read up on it & thought this was cool:

quote:

Keeled treehoppers mothers guard their egg masses in a tiny show of maternal (presocial) behavior. These treehoppers are often attended by ants that give these treehoppers protection from predators. The ants in turn feed on honeydew excreted by these treehoppers.

This explains all the ants I saw on the sage. Nature be so cool sometimes.
