Just like LSU has improved over the last few games, Vandy also has improved. In their last 3 games, they beat a terrible Dartmouth team by 16, had a 3 point loss to Alabama and a 2 point loss to #13 Memphis in Memphis. Vandy has been bad this year, but Coach Stackhouse may have figured something out, so I expect a tough game. If LSU loses, I will be watching Vandy’s next few games to see if it was due to Vandy’s new found formula, or LSU’s weakness.

This.

Vanderbilt probably feels a lot like LSU in that they are starting to play their best basketball of the season. Is that enough to go on the road and win? Who knows? Vanderbilt doesn't really do anything well. The matchup stats all favor LSU. If there is one big concern it is that Vanderbilt will shoot a lot of threes and LSU hasn't been great defending the 3 this year. That said, LSU has been much better in that category in their last 3 games (though perhaps that's just a byproduct of their opponents)

This is a "must win" game for LSU. Not because I think LSU is a NCAAT. But if the program wants to establish any positive momentum you can't lose at home to what has clearly been the worst team in the league. Especially considering your next game is @ Auburn...who might be the best team in the league...playing in one of the better home environments in the league.

Ole Miss got slammed back to earth at Tennessee on Saturday. If LSU can get this one, there is a very real chance the Tigers could start 3-1 with a home game vs. Ole Miss following Auburn. That would exceed EVERYONE'S expectations for the first 4 games.
