I have yet to find a state with competent left lane drivers. It's almost literally the only rule of the road one needs to remember (stay right unless passing) and yet it seemingly is still impossible to do.

Here's a variant I love: you are in the left lane and there is nobody behind you for a long way. Slightly ahead of you, in the right lane, is another car driving behind, say, an 18 wheeler. At the last possible second, the other car gets over to the left lane and proceeds to VERY SLOWLY "pass" the 18-wheeler...and then takes forever to (or just doesn't ever) get back in the right lane.

I just don't understand it. An easy, cursory look would have revealed nobody was behind you and they could have just waited for you to go by first. But aren't they are in a hurry?!?! Guess not, as they barely even moved after that.
