Megan was a cousin of mine. I attended her funeral in Cottonport nearly 10 years ago. We all thought it was a suicide.

Husband murdered her, framed it as a suicide. He recently pled out to involuntary manslaughter, is doing 5 years.

Dustin was a distant acquaintance of mine. Such an eerie feeling to hear about this when it took place. Sorry for you and your family. I hope the kids are well taken care of.

That’s him. My fam grew up the other side of the bayou directly across from the church. Still make a trip back few times a year to Cottonport.

Watched the 48 hrs and I can’t imagine what the family, friends, and 2 young boys have been through. Prayers sent for all involved.
Unbelievable how Parra admitted that he killed his wife, pleaded to a lesser charge, and will only serve 18 months in prison. The remaining sentence (42 months) he will be on probation. This according to CBS. Parents accepted the plea deal and got exactly what they wanted . Admission of guilt and got custody of their grandkids.
