How was Mizzou’s recruiting defensively compared to LSU’s the last few years

Baker is obviously an upgrade over our current staff just like my deceased grandmother would be, but I’m just curious how much he did with what talent.

Mizzou finished ranked 34, 15, 24 the past three years in overall recruiting rankings on 247. Don't know how heavy those classes were with defensive players. Also don't know how heavily influenced, or hurt, they were by the portal with those recruits. Just a broad picture of where they were.

Burden was in one of those classes - he was a top recruit/ 5-star.

It will be different at LSU because of the history and hopefully the other assistants hired. Those are good recruiting numbers for Mizzou, and shouldn’t be sneezed at Baker will be a really good hire in multiple ways.

In addition to high school recruiting, identifying and signing top portal talent is crucial for Baker. Unlike the case with House, we're told that Baker can do both.

One thing you can tell about Baker looking at their recruiting rankings- he and the staff there developed players and got them playing well as a team. He should be able to get LSU’s current defensive roster playing much better.

I looked it up for a response on another thread (that now appears to be whacked) but looking at their 2 deep from this year (according to our lads) and looking at rankings on 247 they had 0 5*s, 3 4*s (one being 2nd string) and the rest 3*s. With like a 1* and a few NR. LSU on the other hand had 3 5*s and 8 4*s, rest 3*s and a couple NR.
