No. LSU makes enough money and I am not paying college athletes that already get a free education, housing, meals, tutoring while other kids can’t even afford to go to college anymore without significant loans.

NIL is the worst thing to happen in college sports and should likely just end it and create real minor leagues for pro sports to pay for on their own.

Good players help create a good product on the field that fans want to pay for and cheer for. They should be given a cut of the profits. It’s basic capitalism. Watch what happens to the ticket sales and athletic revenue if all the good players leave lol.

100% agree. Yes. I love LSU and am a proud graduate. But I’m not going to support a corrupt NIL program in which we have to cater to and kiss these kids assess for them to feel “respected”. Ask A&M how their huge spending spree went with NIL as well.

No. It shows a lot of us don’t care to pay over pampered athletes to play school for not only free but get paid while others are struggling to to survive their way financially through school. Many of these other people if not most will make more important contributions to the betterment of the world than these kids will, but our investment should be in them and not a kid that may help in finding cures for deadly diseases, developing ground breaking technologies in computing, manufacturing and energy. Nope, we need to pay for a kid to live in a penthouse while playing school. A kid that with almost 99% certainty will do nothing else meaningful towards the greater society once done.

Dude…? Seriously? These kids give back so much to our state and the Tiger faithful. Sure, they are largely self-important, narcissistic assholes that may or may not be able to read and write, but this is important! Hell, I just had to break the news to my 17 y/o that I liquidated the entirety of his 529 and savings account to donate to “Bayou traditions”. He’ll have to take out a high interest rate student loan and fend for himself. He’ll probably be in debt up to his eyeballs for the remainder of his life, but Nabers, Skenes, Livvy and such are getting MY money, damn it! Should we expect them to slum it like the rest of us? No! They deserve this! I’m in it to win a championship.

I understand what you're saying, but I don't think NIL is a horrible idea because fans are coming to see the players, period! The problem with NIL is there were no guidelines put in place in the beginning and there are still no checks and balances in place today. As a result, the already dirty world of college football recruiting is now like a runaway freight train and good luck stopping it.
