Hankton is here bc of the history of BK being a coach that gives his internal coaches promotions to prominent positions. Co-OC is definitely the way this is going.

Which is a great solution.
Both guys have solid claims based on their roles the past two years and it keeps two up and comers with solid recruiting ties and development at home.
Co coordinators has worked great at numerous championship programs on both sides of the ball.
Everyone just is scared of it because the only time we promoted two crappy coaches. Not because it’s an illegitimate solution.
I remember when everyone hated the crowton “meerkat check with me offense” yet now EVERYONE does it

I love Hankton, but everyone acts like he’s this real young up and comer.
The guy is 43 years old and never called a play in his career.
My opinion is he is happy with this type of on field role and has no aspiration to call plays. He Would rather go straight from WR coach/PGC to a head coach eventually, as opposed to being cooped up in a booth analyzing.
Thoughts?

Hankton is a national championship winning wr coach and one of the best in the business. He has every right and opportunity to be looked at as an OC. Just because he is 43 and never called plays does not mean he isn't capable.

I’m Totally fine with it.
It’s a good problem to have…. 2 internal candidates that we want to keep.
