Hello,
Girlfriend has Vanguard Mutual Funds for her Roth IRA held in a Charles Schwab account. When purchasing Vanguard Mutual funds Schwab charges a fee (If using Schwab should just purchase ETFs or the Schwab equivalent funds, lesson learned). Dividends and capital gains are set to reinvest. Curious if there is also a fee associated with the reinvestment? Curious if should dump existing Vanguard funds and move them to Schwab funds. Any issue with simply letting the Vanguard funds grow?

Great question. I was recently moved to Schwab's platform from TDAmeritrade. When I made my quarterly trades of non-Schwab funds they charged me fees. This displeases me, greatly, and is pushing me to move to Fidelity or Vanguard.

Ever since they switched me from TDA I've hated it. Their website is shitty and confusing to use. I mainly just use thinkorswim but I wanna change.

I would consider buying one of schwabs index funds if the fees are bothersome. Unless there's a specific fund you are looking for, the common total market, etc funds are fairly equivocal to vanguard funds with low fees

I don’t believe I’ve ever seen a reinvestment fee on dividends or CGs of MFs.

I am a long time user of Schwab ETFs. I would definitely use those over vanguard.

Does anyone know if there’s a fee on dividend reinvestments?
