In the Jews’ defense, lending money was a sin until Christians realized how rich you could get by doing it. By the time they started ignoring that biblical rule, the Jews had too much of a head start.

I could be wrong but I think Catholics could lend money to non-catholics.
It’s just there wasn’t much of a market in Christian countries cause they were the majority. Jews were the minority and had way more opportunities.
