[quote]The reason I wanted fly British Airways, is that it allows us to leave Wednesday night and get there Thursday afternoon. We can settle in, get a meal and get a good nights sleep so we can start fresh Friday morning. Any other flights would make us fly out Thursday morning or mid day and land Friday morning, making it a jet lagged exhausted day.[/quote

You are going to be exhausted day one no matter what. But if you want a cheaper way to Italy plenty of options.

This. Day one get there, get your room and take a nap. Go out to dinner and walk around and hit the ground running on day two. The minimum I would personally do is a week there sandwiched in between two travel days.

I’m not sure how much international travel you’ve done and I hope this isn’t condescending. Jet lag can be an issue but it’s not THAT big of a deal for Italy or near there.

Not condescending. Unfortunately, I can’t sleep on a plane. I’ve tried all kinds of different tactics and I’m just always exhausted when I land and end up crashing for an hour or two and that first day ends up being almost a chore. Was thinking this way I could get there, get a full nights sleep and start the first day off right.

There are different options. I guess my price question was more generally, will prices overall fall or will they stay where they are or rise. Prices everywhere seem to be up, but prices to Europe, even the cheaper options, are more than they were last year.
