I have absolutely no experience in this, but my wife has worked in both situations and she'll take a private office any day, all day over a cubicle.
And if I did find myself in a similar situation, I know for sure I'd rather a private office.
Something about a cubicle would make me feel like a hamster on a spinning wheel in a cage.
