Have a friend looking at going to the Bahamas this year and need some advice. Primarily looking for info on resorts, hotels, and things to do. Thanks in advance for your help.

What does he want to do, what are the ages of people going?

The Bahamas consists of over 3000 islands.

Nassau is touristy and not really worth it unless going with kids to Atlantis.

Eluthera/Spanish wells is laid back resort type island.

Marsh Harbor/Abaco is good if you want to go fishing.

Bimini for diving and more fishing. Probably the least commercialized of the bigger island options.

The ages range from 60s to 30s. Young couple has a two year old. My guess is they want to kick back and take it easy with a few things to do.

If you want a very low tourist percentage and equally amazing beaches look towards Long Island. It's for people who want to disconnect and be apart of the locals really. Might not be for you specifically as only a couple "resorts" on the very north tip. The dean's blue hole is there and an amazing beach at every turn (like most of the Bahamas but in LI you will likely have it to yourself). I stay at Tiny's Hurricane Hole when I go. It's a beach bar/grill that has three huts for rent.

Long Island

Long Island is on our list. Thank you for the quick confirmation that I need to get there quickly.

I've been to various islands, but Harbour Island has been my favorite trip to date. We stayed at Coral Sands, rented a golf cart for the duration, and rented a boat for a day and hit "Pig Island", then Spanish Wells for lunch, then stopped at a few undeveloped islands on the way back.

Spanish Wells is amazing as it’s surrounded by the Devil’s Backbone Reef. Creates huge calm blue water lagoons and is the lobster capital of the Bahamas.
