Either way, Williams plus $50m in cap space is almost certainly as good as fields on a non rookie contract

So there’s a good bit of upside to resetting before you end up 6-11 and have to be in qb purgatory

Is it? The Bears are 4-2 since Fields came back, if they win this week they’ll be 8-9. Their D has been really good, if they could trade back, pick up the top OL, maybe a stud WR to go with Moore, they could be good next year. Always a risk with a rookie, could be Stroud, could be Young
