Reese "Captain Obvious" Davis, ESPN, 2011 Game Day broadcast before the SECCG where Nick Saban was a guest host begging for his first of many mulligans while his team sat at home, waiting for an opportunity they didn't earn.
History would repeat itself quite often the next decade plus.
How many other top CFB coaches could go on a run like this if they had that many mulligans and narrative shifts so their program could get more chances than they deserved? Urban Meyer immediately comes to mind.
