Shitting on the military

It isn't shitting on the military to acknowledge that it is mostly comprised of lower middle class folks from rural areas that didn't have a lot of better options.

Small town USA has less opportunities and the military is a stable career path that can provide an opportunity for young people to purchase a house and get free healthcare.

You really are blind to how (1) elitist and (2) ignorant you actually are.

Oh, you’ve been on Fort Polk hundreds of times. Well that changes everything. Hell, you need to head on down to the VA and get set up on your benefits.

Let me guess, at one point you “almost” joined, right?

Yeah, you got me buddy. You're a hero for taking that government handout instead of the scholarship handout that I took.

And I strongly disagree with that assertion.

You're wrong, but it's not necessarily all on the young men of today.

The D-Day assault happened during a time when most people trusted our government (and it wasn't the intrusive shitocracy it is now). Along with that, we had an overwhelming enemy committed to an aggressive and straight-forward military campaign. Attempts at sympathizing with the enemy domestically were met with outright hostility and desire to fight the enemy was met with an incredible zeal (so much so that underaged boys would write the number 18 on the bottoms or on paper put into their shoes just so they could say they were "over 18" in order to join the military and fight the Axis powers).

We do not have any of those things today.

There is a high level of mistrust of our government (rightly so), we've moved to a place where we sympathize with our enemies to the point where we lose the resolve to make some hard choices in order to win wars (even to the point of attempts at public shaming for not doing so) and conflicts have expanded well beyond the easy-to-understand military vs. military.

Along with that, our military mindset has transitioned from bold ground-based strategy to appeasing the political class who wants a more "win the hearts and minds" philosophy so they can avoid being called a "murderer" in their next election. In other words, we don't have the leadership today who would plan (or be allowed to plan), much less approve, a D-Day style assault.

So now you’re claiming those who serve in the military aren’t earning their pay but instead are taking government handouts. Wow. Just wow.

So fighting in a war while serving in the United States armed forces is a government handout?

I'll send you a list of phone numbers to the parents of my fallen brothers so you can call them on the day their son died and tell them they were bottom 20% dumbasses who took a handout cause they weren't smart enough to go to college.
He'll while you at swing by Arlington and shite on all those degenerates Graves.

Thank all those who have gone to college and frick those retards that valued others over self.

Here is an ignorant rube taking his government handout in the forest outside Bastogne.

Here is another couple of ignorant rubes, probably from a rural area, collecting government handouts in the jungle of Vietnam.

And look at this idiot, definitely too dumb to go to college, collecting his government hand out during Desert Storm.

And a little over a decade later, more trashy commoners took their turn in Iraq collecting government handouts.

So, you’re doubling down on your claim that those serving in the military are in fact taking, as you have called it twice now, a “government handout”. Those are your words and you stand behind them?
