Seems like you have forgotten the entire point of a bowl game. It is a reward to players based on their hard work throughout the season.

How is it a reward if they suffer a career ending injury during a game that is supposed to be a celebration. Bowl games make sense to send off players who are playing their last game or players playing for a championship. Not so much for players that are so close to reaching their goal of making it to the NFL to have a shot to blow it.

90% of players still participate. U only notice the opt outs more because the big bowl games are full of nfl talent.

You have a higher risk of getting murdered in the hood than this happening. Its a cop out. Chad Jones career ended on a car wreck. I guess he should have "opted out" of driving.
