Changing out tuners on a Squier.

I think I’ve asked before. Hate my son’s tuners on his cheap assed Squier Affinity Strat.
Is there anything you can swap that’s an improvement but involves zero modification. Not re drilling holes for tuner posts or new screw configuration.

If you know what size the post holes are, Stratosphere has a crapload of choices.
Now let me ask this: I've owned a few Affinity Telecasters and tuners were never an issue on them, do the strats have the same tuners?

Hipshot makes not only great tuners but universal mounting plates that don't use set screws and usually cover up old left-behind set screw holes.
Hipshot also offer well over a dozen vintage and modern material/design replacement tuner buttons.
If your current tuners have press-in headstock bushings, you need vintage diameter posts (in the case of Hipshot, 8.5mm). If your current tuners have hex nut post bushings, they are modern diameter (10mm).
Go to hipshotproducts.com for all the details. You can also order directly if you don't want to utilize an authorized Hipshot dealer and installer. One hangs out on this forum but his name escapes me.
I've been told their customer service help and Q line is pretty good at answering specific questions too.

That looks exactly like what he needs and I'm pretty sure that what he has is the modern style with the hex nut bushing.
You know, all of us other guys on this forum ought to chip in together and get us a red hotline telephone setup with you. Like on the old movies.

Wilkinsons would work.

Bump and update.
I’m a dumbass. It’s a Squier bullet Strat. If that narrows it down. 2014 per serial.

I don't know if the tuners are the same as the Affinity. Probably not, because the bullet models were the lowest price range I think.
That doesn't automatically mean that your tuners are the problem. An improperly slotted nut can cause problems and would be the first thing I would look at.
Make sure the strings can move freely in the slots and lightly dab some chapstik in them, under the strings, with a toothpick.
If the nut is fine then worry about the tuners.
