re: Over 25% of Methodist churches abandon denomination as schism grows over LGBTQ+ issues

The UMC did a very poor job of handling this the whole way. Their silence was taken by many that it was conceivable some small church in the country could have a drag queen as preacher.
As protestant churches go the Methodist Church as a whole is more liberal than Baptists by a mile. But it varies on an individual church basis.
Didn't have to happen this way but sadly it did. Our church is "staying" but honestly,not one thing is changing.

Our Church likely won’t vote as our Pastor wants it to be the welcoming Church for all including those “displaced” after their Church voted to disaffiliate.

Well, they started by having female preachers.. then devolved into gay and lesbian preachers without saying nary a word. If and SBC church tried to hire... well... actually the ones that DID try to hire women pastors.... got kicked out of the SBC with the quickness. That's what the Methodists should have done from the get-go.

You're a simp for staying. Grow some hekcin balls, man. What's the worst than can happen, you find a better church who doesn't promote homosexuality / paedophilia and make some new friends?
