Telluride has been Four Season’ed for as long as I’ve been alive. It’s an absurdly expensive resort town for the wealthy. The only place that might be worse is Aspen and Vail.
There are all sorts of mountain towns all over Colorado, Utah, Montana, California that aren’t like that.

If you don’t mind sharing, what are some of the towns in CA, CO, UT, and MT that would fit your description of not catering to the ultra wealthy?

quote:telluride might be the least “four seasoned” fancy place I’ve ever been. Yes it’s expensive but resort hotels are non existent (shite, ANY hotels are non existent for the most part).

we only go during the summer but we love it precisely because it’s an authentic experience and not an artificial resort like vail or aspen. Plenty of plastic people but no plastic accommodations
mountain village where this 4 seasons is going is 180 degrees different and there’s no reason to go up there in the summer at all
