Not trying to shite on Denbrock, he did a fine job here for 2 years.

But holy shite, everyone is getting caught up in the moment with this guy.

About to be 60 years old and this is the first time he's ever been seen as the "it guy".

He's a good OC. He's not great. He's never been great. He had a great season while teamed up with a Heisman QB, 2 first round WRs, and the QB whisperer Joe Sloan.

He's probably better than what they recently had, so ND should still be happy.

But if they think they're getting the type of offense we put out this year, oh buddy, it's gonna be a rude awakening for them.

That's what I'm saying. This isn't Lincoln Riley's offense, or Scott Frost's offense when he was Chip Kelly's OC. This isn't Josh Heupel's offense nor is it Sonny Dykes offense. This isn't Dan Mullen's or Jeff Lebby's offense. This isn't Tom Herman nor Ryan Day's offense.

There is no diverse run scheme like you see in those offenses. There is no wide array or wildly different passing schemes like you see in some of those offenses. There is no real tricks either. It's a spread, with RPO elements and, if they have the players, some 2 TE sets.

The real reason it is so effective is the amount of talent on those teams against the level of talent they face. The Cincinnati Bearcats, as a team, sent 12 players to the draft the last two years with 9 of them coming after the playoff team year (Denbrock's last season there). Of those 12 players, SIX of them were skill players on offense. From his 2021 unit 3 starting WRs were drafting in the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th rounds. Their starting TE and RB were drafted in the 5th round. Their starting QB was drafted in the 3r round. They were 11th in scoring, but only 59th in total offense (aka yards), that tells me that their defense and special teams gave them short fields and they were able to capitalize. That Cincinnati defense was something else even holding Bama to 27 and holding heisman Bryce Young under 200 yards and 6.5 ypa.

The other Denbrock coordinator season came in 2014 at Notre Dame. They were 40th in scoring and 34th in total offense. They had 2 NFL guys in Prosise and Will Fuller, and a decent QB in Golson, whose problem was being a turnover machine. IMO, the only difference from what they had in 2013 and 2014 was that the QB Golson was more accurate than Tommy Rees.

Unless they have elite talent there, it won't be the same. Maybe it's my biases, but I don't see them coming anywhere close to the talent LSU has on a yearly basis on offense
