predator, prey and people are all connected. That’s how the natural world works. Man is simply the only apex predator capable of managing the prey herd through unnatural means. Elk evolved alongside wolf, each is a critical component to the health of the other. Without the wolf, the elk cannot be as sustainable as it should and could be.

if we are to argue that man has replaced the wolf as the elk’s primary predator, then “we” need to stop taking trophy bulls and start taking the weak, sick, elderly and infirm animals (just like the wolf does)
