Going to have the opportunity to play a few courses around there
Can anyone tell me behind about Carlton Woods, Lochinvar, and Houston CC?

If you're playing those courses, you're going to have a great trip.

Awesome. Any insight on what to expect? That’s the current itinerary

It's been several years since I played Lochinvar, but I would says it's in great shape since it has a strong golf membership.
I have played Carlton Woods many times and in August it was great as always. Great range and clubhouse.
Forecaddies are very helpful with those two.
HCC is an older course, but a nice layout.
Loch and Carlton will certainly test your game.

Carlton Woods is very good, haven't seen the work on Nicklaus yet. If you like Fazio you'll like Creekside
Lochinvar is a good course, it gets extra mystique points for being all male and always being in great shape. Plus it's proximity to The Church can't be overstated.
HCC is super fancy, super old school club. Course is going to be perfect but just good, Andrew Green is going to be renovating it in a few years.

Played Lochinvar a year or so ago as an unaccompanied guest. Had a caddie. We make the turn and didn’t stop at the clubhouse. On #11 i turn to the caddie and ask where is the next bathroom shack. Caddie says there isn’t any. Tells me to just pee outside. Trying to be a polite guest i declined, and he says “this is a men’s only club, pissing outside is encouraged”. Course is fantastic. Great track.

I play HCC a bunch. Not impressed w the design. The other two should be higher priority if it’s just the course.

I agree with this. If you have a say and can pick another course, I would push for River Oaks over HCC. Old school, swanky club with a better track.

Carlton woods in primo, they just redid the Nicholas course.
You’ll likely be required to play with a caddie if there are more guests than members
