We had a historically bad defense and our LB recruiting has garbage the past 2 years except for weeks.
Tylen Singleton is our highest graded LB in this class. Those kids play together for years and Tackett was objectively better. Maybe singleton developed more but it's not even a real conversation who was the more impactful playmaker on those defenses.
He's a Louisiana kid, never committed/flipped from LSU, never led lsu on, never said anything bad about lsu, he was a borderline 5* with elite athletic ability.
If grown men on here don't want him it's solely due to their feelings, no one can make a rational argument to not take him.

I’ll take him because our defense is putrid and we need decent depth, but this kid is never going to be a great player at the top level. But probably serviceable, which is 50x better than Omar Speights

Wow!!! Just wow!!! First, Perkins was recruited in the 2022 class..2 classes ago. Second, the LBer recruiting THIS class is OUTSTANDING. Atkins and Keys are 2 of the 3 best LBers in Texas (maybe 2 best) and Atkins is up for the award for best player in Texas HS football...along with 11 other nominees. I have nothing for or against Curtis but to act like LBer is a position of need is silly. I like Penn...I like Perkins...I like Weeks...and I like the LBer class coming in. Plus, 3 LBers on the field at the same time is very rare.

I wouldn't go so far as to say all that. You don't have use ad hominem attacks on our current LB's for Curtis to be good as well.
If Kelly and the staff he's worthy of a place on the 85 man, then I would welcome him.
