My BIL dropped 106K on an Audi EV. They live in the ATL while I live in Birmingham. They ALWAYS drive my sister's 2015 Mercedes SUV when visiting even though its ~3 hours away. Dumbest big ticket purchase ever.

Not really.

An EV is perfect for someone living/commuting in a metro area.

It's not ideal for long road trips.

Most families have multiple vehicles. Once ICE and one ev (or hybrid) makes sense.

My guess is your BIL is 35-45 years of age, partially woke and the Audi EV is a status symbol along with a little virtue signaling .
