as the owner of two new to me cast iron claw foot tubs I can say unequivocally they are the most comfortable bathtubs I’ve ever had and I had no idea what I was missing
seriously…when they say they don’t make ‘‘em like they used to, this is what they are talking about

We remodeled our master bath a year ago and put in a cast iron claw foot tub. I never took baths before. Now I do. Very comfortable and relaxing.

this ^^^^^^^
and the old tubs are easy to refurbish and have a new ceramic finish applied to them to look brand new. the hard part is the feet are often missing or broken from the ones you can find when looking for those the old tubs.
its best to go to one of those specialty shops that find and refurbish old tubs and sinks for them for them to resell
one thing to keep in mind with clawfoot tubs, the entire floor must be finished end to end before the tub gets installed. that adds extra cost to the remodel vs the fiberglass tubs by almost doubling the sq footage of flooring you need to buy
