“Inside, docs remain focused on quality of care and patients best interest.”
NC_Tigah. I generally enjoy your posts and respect you as pretty knowledgeable.
But,I have to disagree with you somewhat on this.
I was pretty disgusted with a whole lot of Drs.I knew during the Covid fiasco.Way too many of them drank the Koolaid and pushed the shot on any and everybody, assuring their pts.it was safe and effective, they were endangering their lives if they didn’t take it,etc.I had an old Dr I once respected told me that exact thing.Pushing masks on everybody when they should have known a surgical or cloth mask wasn’t going to protect them.I had a class on masks in ICU and knew the only mask of any value was an N-95 of proper size and being fit tested.I actually saw a few Drs.wearing cloth masks.
I think recommending the shot was good advice for some pts, over 65 and those with co-morbidities.That was Dr. Robert Malone’s recommendation. He said we don’t
know the long term side effects,he was right.
I think most were afraid to buck the system, many were blinded by the $40 they got for every shot they gave plus bonuses for reaching certain thresholds.Maybe they were just ignorant.
I worked 35 years as a nurse and I learned not to trust anything new,I remember fen-phen,Vioxx,Bextra and that’s why I and a lot of other old nurses refused it.Yet,most Drs.wholeheartedly jumped on the Covid jab bandwagon.Surely they should have remembered the same things.
Then most refused to give ivermectin and some ridiculed it as horse wormer and declared it dangerous, same for hydroxychloroquine. They knew better,or should have.
I haven’t had a primary care Dr.since I left home as a teenager until last year at age of 72,I was forced to by my Medicare Advantage plan.
I can truthfully say in all my years working I never dealt with a Family Practice,GP or Internist that inspired any confidence in me to see them as a pt.
I hurt my shoulder,I went to an orthopedic Dr.,I had diverticulitis I went to a surgeon.
Sleep apnea,I went to an ENT.
The reason I chose the primary Dr.I did is because I found out through the nurse grapevine that he had acquired a large stash of ivermectin and gave it to his pts.at no charge after swearing them to secrecy. He also didn’t push the Covid shot on everybody that came in the door,if they wanted it he gave it.Otherwise he only recommended it to certain pts.
According to his office nurse,he got a lot of blowback from the other Docs in the clinic.Eventually one of the other Drs, started using it after he saw the benefit.Another Dr, that has a very good reputation never bent the knee.Too stubborn or chicken$hit (or ignorant).
That’s the kind of Dr.I respect.

“pharmacists, on the other hand are the most corrupt pieces of crap”
Pretty harsh don’t you think.Like labeling all nurses as whores.
I’ve known a hell of a lot of pharmacists in my working career and labeling them all as corrupt is unwarranted.
I’ve read of pharmicists being arrested for illegal $hit but it’s very rare considering the large number of them in the US.

Re: Surgical masks ... if everyone is wearing them in a clinical setting, there is some protection. Cloth masks are worthless. In fact, in some instances they are worse than no mask at all.
quote:In fairness, my comments were heavily tilted toward specialists/subspecialists, rather than primary practitioners. My contact with the primary practice world is virtually nil except for personal care. TBH, it's a skew I'd not even taken into consideration until you noted your experiences.
