I have it for my kids, they're 12. But I allow them to bike all over the place to friend's houses, couple of miles away, crossing roads, etc.

Without it, they'd be relegated to a much smaller radius where they could go.

I think for us it works opposite of what most people think where it's restrictive. Having it allows my kids to do even more than they would without it.
