Anybody tried one of the Gibson G45 guitars?

I haven't even come across one yet.
I like the idea of the player port. It works well on my Michael Kelly thinline guitar.

Aug, I haven't tried the G45...but, I do have a G-Bird. It is a fantastic guitar. So much so that a couple of my buddies played mine and each purchased one. The player sound hole is pretty cool. The only negative at first were the fret markers....they look like frets. I'm used to them now and I absolutely love it.

Hope I can get a chance to try one out soon. I looked at the specs, and the necks on those G-birds are slightly wider at the nut, but not real wide. I would like to try one.

Very underwhelming, IMO.
I've played several and they seem cheaply built and don't project well.

I only played one, but got the same feeling. I was at Fullers, which has a ton of gibsons. I put it down pretty quick and grabbed the bigger boys.
Not a bad guitar. Just felt like a Taylor Academy but better. And for at least double the $$$ IIRC.

For that amount, I'd just get the Epiphone Slash J45, it was better IMO

Best deal out there right now. All solid and you get the hard shell case for free. Doesn't matter if you are into Slash.. It's a Masterbilt J45 with a hardshell case for free.

I just noticed, this j200 parlor has the same bridge as the G-bird.
I'm not crazy about the way it looks, but it's really comfortable for my playing

I played one at the Gibson factory in Nashville. Wasn’t impressed. They must not be either bc it was the only Gibson in the whole place that wasn’t locked up. I thought it was cool concept , but it didn’t feel as solid, and I’m not a tremendous fan of walnut guitars.
