I was watching one of those silly hgtv shows years ago when real estate was going wild and they said that there were more licensed realtors in the state of CA than there were RE sales per year. So the average agent in CA sold <1 property per year.

I know quite a few people that have a license but it’s not their main job. There are a ton of licensed agents that aren’t active.
