He definitely orders it when he knows he can't stop the opposing offense. Colt McCoy 2009, Quinn Ewers 2022, Joe Burrow 2018, Jayden Daniels 2023 were all on the hit list.

I was actually a bit shocked that this board wasn’t going crazy during the Iron Bowl, they should have been flagged for a 15 yard dead ball penalty at least three times, including two late hits to the QB.

They DGAF. Saban gambles on it and usually doesn’t even get the penalty called.
