Believe it or not, the average roster size is 118 players. Every D1 Level University has a hard limit of 85 scholarships they can offer. But it’s completely normal to have upwards of 120 players on a roster (between 100 to 120 is normally what you’ll see). How many of those kids currently are walk-ons?… Walk-ons do not count towards the scholarship count. If CBK was saying 5 to 10 transfers months ago, then the logistics including red-shirting, the walk-ons, expected draft losses, kids transferring out, and or kids graduating will allow for more than enough room to stay under or near the hard-count.

What are you trying to say here? The fact that schools have 20+ walkons isn’t relevant to the portal discussion.

The 85 limit is a hard cap.

Do Red Shirts count against the 85? I'm certain that Grey Shirts do not.
