Jefferson is ALSO a freshman. AND GUESS WHAT, he played a game without turning the ball over. CAN YOU BELIEVE THAT? I cannot wait for Sheppard and Jefferson to never let him see the field again.

HOw do you ever boo a 19 year old that is giving it his all?????
I would never "boo" the kid, but "giving it his all"? Don't think so...
Did he ever "give it his all" after throwing a pick-6 and actually trying to stop the defender? Did he "give it his all" when the TEAM needed 3 yards for a 1st down against Bama and JL could have run it for at least 2+ but decided to throw a no-look pass?
Am I being nit-picky? Yeah, probably...but to me, those are glimpses into the way JL thinks and reacts.
Flame away...whatever.

News flash - Arkansas sucks. They gave up at least 20 to every team they played, including the cupcakes.
JJ protected the ball better - I agree. That had something to do with the fact that he had another option on 3rd and long.
However, he didn't seem capable of rallying the team when needed like JL has shown a few times.
Honestly, with RS being in spring practice, he might end up being the starter by the fall.

this season either crushed his confidence or helped him grow a pair of brass balls. I think that he was baptized by fire this year and will be better next year.

this is a joke right?

When any team becomes one dimensional, it is very difficult to move the ball. I love how Lee supporters reference Arkansas being bad as the reason JJ looked good. Did you watch Lee vs Tulane? The kid has nothing. I think everyone hopes for a great story of overcoming adversity. But guess what..WE ARE LSU. We get the cream of the crop and it's time to start acting like it. JJ is a TRUE freshman. JL is a REDSHIRT Freshman. The fact that there isn't a lot of separation between the two makes the point exactly. There is no excuse for Lee not being further along than a true freshman. NONE what-so-ever.

Chill dude, you have some anger issues, huh?
I've always thought that JL was going to be da man. He just never progressed. When JJ pump faked the ball and looked off the Safety on a deep throw, I said, wow, that's something I've never seen JLee do. I think once JL gets in a rythm, he is a good QB. But JJ deserves the start, he gives us more options right now.
post of the night
i too just want to see the BEST and most PROVEN qb playing next year..and as of right now it is JJ
but i think lee will be a great at LSU..he's got a lotta time to improve that passing of his

I am not saying that the kid is a good QB...in fact these plays showed that JJ should have been in the game...especially after the TEbowesque jump lob attempt to KW that sailed out of bounds when he could have run for the first down plus about 6 more yards...He was still giving it his all here...In fact, he was trying so hard, that he actually was out thinking himself...I am just saying that you NEVER, ever boo a player that is trying hard...especially when he is only 19, and is not being paid to play.

He Will be fine. A good break from the game will be good for him.

I must beg to differ. The network showed a replay from the defensive line angle, and it seemed clear to me that he was thinking, "Oh, @#$%, I'm about to get it." It looked like he was grimacing and looking in the direction of the sideline when he released the ball.

Geez, are you gonna argue everything I say??? Hey man, it's dark outside right now...You say: no it's not...not in Rome.
Don't boo fricking players is all I am saying.
Yes...Lee was afraid to get hit all season...The irony is the fact that he finally waited that last second in the Ole Miss game for Lafell to get open, and completed a nice 19 yd. pass play, but took the hit and got hurt. Sucks for him.
JJ is better though...just sayin.

Lee might end up being ok, but it will take time. The problems that he has can't be fixed in a couple of practices. Considering the beating he has already taken psychologically, I would prefer the staff leave him on the bench for the bowl game unless there is an injury.
Lee also has something else working against him. He is less of a fit for Crowton's offense than JJ, Hatch, or RS (when he arrives). Even if the others are only as good as he is, Lee will still be at a disadvantage.

I think Lee will prove his detractors this year to be wrong by the time he's done at LSU.
Posted on 12/7/08 at 10:30 pm to hondapa26
lee played very well when the play calling was more open and it was less obvious as to what play we were going to run.the come back in auby ,the troy game, and when jj played he was getting hammered in the ole piss game but when we got behind in the ark. game he began to look real good.that is until we caught up and went back conservative again. so both qb's have proved they can play ball and be very good if the play calling is good. with all this said i believe in both and think well be alright next year if we call the game right.

4 pages, not bad for a kid that most fans threw under the bus
Posted on 12/7/08 at 10:36 pm to RobbBobb
it's a damn shame he got hammered by his on fans so bad when there was so many other things that went wrong on defense and the co coordinators and the dropped passes and bad play calls.
