Are you doing this every single date for a year? The folks surveyed in the OP are saying they're doing $170+ for every single date in a year (an average of 8 dates).
eta: there's definitely some semantics and/or generational divide going on in regards to defining a "date"

I’m married so dates are few and far between, but we easily can spend $300 if you factor in a good tip.
