Name me these 25-30 men that left the team BEFORE Orgeron was fired.

What the frick are you babbling about You just keep proving how casual you are.

I’m not even going with the “39 scholarship players in the bowl game” narrative here because I know several players sat out. But that said, look at what came immediately after. We took only 15 commits in the 2022 class, because O fricking tanked it even before he got himself fired. The fact that you give him credit for anyone in that class that had to be salvaged at the last second is fricking laughable. It included two legacies, one of who you tried to credit O with getting here. Give me a fricking break.

But then we took 15 more portal players and elevated 2 or 3 walk-ons. That’s over 30 replacement players in one class. And WE STILL DIDN’T HAVE A FULL 80 MAN SCHOLARSHIP ROSTER in 2022 You do understand this, right?

As for Shula, calm the frick down. I never said he left the team stocked with 5 stars. But they were not devoid of talent. He was just a below average coach who ran a mediocre program. That 08 Bama team that won the West without the benefit of the portal and with only one full recruiting class still had several senior starters left from over from Shula. And they sure as hell had 80 guys and a roster that wasn’t completely gutted like ours was.

If there is a mass exodus of players from a team after a coach is fired, how is it that coach's fault?

That is college football in 2023. There are daily threads in the Rant inquiring if we should go after players in the portal, or keeping an eye on the roster of a division for who just fired their coach to see if any talent players are leaving.

Players are recruited by position coaches who now don't know if they'll have a job or not.

Same for incoming recruits, if they're on the fence between two universities, they more than likely will choose the program with stability and not one where everyone they've been in contact with might not be retained.

Look, O had some issues and had to deal with externalities that he struggled with. But to keep perpetuating this myth that there was no talent here for reasons beyond O's control is nothing more then excusing BK.
