As I’ve looked into it I’m finding myself leaning more towards a diy mule deer hunt in Colorado. I understand my chances at success are very low being unfamiliar but have to start somewhere right?
I’m gonna start exploring some of the public land areas by map and try to make a decision on where I want to go and lodging options VS camping.
Hell, just walking around Colorado for a few days and camping sounds like a blast even if I don’t get to pull the trigger

You need to get familiar with how many points it takes to draw various hunt units. GOHUNT is a good source. There are some zero point units, but, for the most part, Western hunting is a multi year process.
